Or visit our Intermediate Didgeridoo Class for those with prior experience playing the didgeridoo. 

Instruments will be available for everyone to play and explore.

Course Description

Learn all about the didgeridoo from our very talented handpan/didgeridoo maker Luc Dupuis.  Luc will bring didgeridoos for everyone to use a play.  This course is perfect for those who have never played a didgeridoo, or beginners who would like to make sure they have their basic skills down just right.  

Course Objectives

  • Understand the history of how didgeridoos came into existence. 
  • Listen to and play a variety of didgeridoos of different keys
  • Hear how different materials create different timbres
  • Know what to look for when purchasing a didgeridoos
  • Learn the proper technique to create clear tones on your didgeridoos
  • Practice proper breathing techniques to ensure success 
  • Explore how to add simple melodic and rhythmic patterns to enhance your playing

Who Can Take This Course?

This course is open to both the general public and to students of Rooted in Sound Academy Canada. 

Number of Credit Hours for Rooted in Sound Academy Students

This course is worth 3 hours of electives towards Rooted in Sound Academy elective hours.  If you take this course and then decide to join Rooted in Sound Academy at a later date, you will be credited these hours.

Please note that the class is subject to cancellation  if minimum enrolment (5 participants) is not met.

Meet your Instructor

Luc Dupuis

Luc is a local handpan and didgeridoo artist who creates world class instruments. 
Luc's playing skills on both the handpan and didgeridoo are top in the field and he can be heard playing throughout Ontario.  He is a regular participant in the Sound Journey Store's annual Charity event. 

Shopping in the Store During Workshops

Participants are welcome to make purchases at the Sound Journey Store before or after training.  If you would like a private consultation, we suggest you book the day before or after class to accommodate for more time.

The Closest airport is Hamilton which is 30 minutes away .  The next two airports are Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Buffalo NY, USA.  Both airports are 1 hour away.

 

Refund policy

PRODUCTS: We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase, we are happy to work with you to find the perfect item. 

If for some reason you are not happy, please call us within 30 days.

If, within the 30 days, you want to exchange an item we will give you full credit towards other products. However, If you wish to do a full return, there is a 15% restocking fee. The item must be returned in the same condition you purchased it.

Shipping is at your expense. It must arrive to us in the same condition as when it was shipped out. Once we have received your returned item, and have inspected it, we will issue a a refund minus the restocking fee and any costs that we incurred to ship the instrument to you.

WORKSHOPS: Our workshops typically sell out quickly. Therefore, we can only offer a refund on tickets if we can fill your spot with someone from the waitlist. Please note that if you cancel at the last minute, it may be difficult for us to find a replacement. Additionally, if you purchase a ticket and do not attend, no refund will be available.
